Family: wife: Amber, kids: Lauren, Nathan, Adrienne

Influences: Mom and Dad, Amber, C.S. Lewis, Steve Farmiloe and Dave Schoeld (youth pastors in HS), Matt Curtis (what a Christian man should be), Mike Hayes, Doug Fields, Tony Pack

Epic Moments: picking leaves up under the magnolia tree every Saturday of my young life, accepting Christ in high school, the summer of 1994, meeting and marrying Amber, the birth of each of my children, moving to KC to work at Covenant Chapel, Lauren's first day of Kindergarten, getting my first drum set in 1985.

Spare Time: playing music (drums and guitar), playing tennis with the guys, wii-ing, paying out-the-nose to fix my house, reconnecting with old friends on Facebook, ultimate frisbee, Frisbee golf, riding bikes with the fam, making up games with DaveP, fighting fyre with fyre with Upward Hill.

BooksBible, anything by C.S. Lewis, unChristian, anything by John Grisham, Divine Conspiracy

Music: old hymns tastefully redone, David Crowder, Third Day, U2, Bruce, Tom Petty, Collective Soul, Van Halen (Sammy and Dave), Dave Matthews, anything with good drums, Upward Hill, Dave P and the Joy Band.

Movies: Rocky, Gladiator, Bourne Trilogy, Oceans Trilogy, Edward Scissorhands, Rudy, Catch Me If You Can, Batman, Noomas, Memento, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World to name a few.

Food: shrimp burritos from El Patio in Santa Rosa, CA; double double animal style from In ‘n Out Burger; any steak cooked medium rare; McDonald's fries; frozen custard from Foo's; fish tacos; good fruit; ANYTHING Amber makes; 7 lb. chocolate cake from Costco (the one with the chocolate shavings on the side!)

At Starbucks, I order a: grande regular coffee (room for cream) with a slice of iced lemon pound cake OR just a cup of ice.

Biggest Frustration: a non-productive argument; sewer lines; the words "moist" and "nutritious"; when people say "the Batman" instead of just "Batman"

Motivation: being a husband and father to the best wife and kids ever, working with and learning from middle and high school students, watching students lives being transformed by the love and redemption of Christ, a good guitar and bass to play along with me.

Personal Motto: "'You would not have called to me unless I had been calling to you,'" said the Lion." -The Silver Chair (C.S. Lewis)

Your role at Covenant Chapel (in your own words): loving middle and high school students for who they are and helping them become all that God has called them to be as His children.
