Congregational Care
At Covenant Chapel, we the body of Christ desire to serve our members and attendees. This is accomplished through our Congregational Care Ministry which the deacons oversee. This vital ministry contains five aspects which are described below:
CONTACT CARE
We provide experiential knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ’s presence by intentional outreach to those who are unable to be in nurturing fellowship of the church due to special circumstances. This will be accomplished through hospital and home visits, cards and/or phone calls to members, regular attendees and sometimes others who become know to us. Referrals to other ministries will be made as needs arise.
MEALS
We provide tangible care in Jesus’ name in the form of meals to the congregation during stressful life events such as; birth of a child, serious illness and hospitalization and death in the immediate family.
HELPING HANDS
We come along side members/regular attendees to meet temporary needs that arise in life with compassion and mercy through the resources, gifts, talents and skills of the church body and/or partnering with other resources and services to meet those needs.
VEIL OF TEARS
We come along side those in the congregation who have suffered the loss of a loved one to assess and help meet needs of a physical, emotional and spiritual nature. Phone contacts, cards, visits, referrals to other ministries within and outside the church are offered. This ministry is open-ended depending on the individual with the goal being to see the bereaved integrated with a small group for long-term support.
BENEVOLENCE FUND
We help those within our congregation (members and regular attendees) temporarily in need of financial assistance due to unemployment, serious illness or other extenuating circumstances. Donated monies are given for the specific purpose of helping people, are separate from all other Covenant Chapel offerings, and are not a part of the church budget.
A procedure has been set in place for individuals/families in our church body who are in need of assistance, financial and otherwise, to apply for this aid. If you are in need of assistance you can contact a deacon directly, contact the church office or begin the process by filling out a congregational care form below.
