a letter from pastor dave

Dear Covenant Chapel Family,

As we enter the holiday season, I want to share a few important things with you.

Our church is all about changed lives living in glad surrender to the Lord Jesus.  This past Sunday we were tearfully reminded of His power to change lives and of the joy of knowing and worshipping Him!  The Card Testimonies were wonderful!

These are exciting days at Covenant Chapel!  Our mission is clear.  Our leadership is united.  Our church is seeking God on her knees (remember the “Week of Prayer”).  We have great plans to reach out to others compassionately, build into their lives deeply, and encourage them to serve gladly.

With that in mind, I would like to ask you to consider giving a special gift to Covenant Chapel to help pursue vitally important dreams and meet crucial needs associated with our passion for changed lives!    Please prayerfully think through the final weeks of this year, giving special thought to any Christmas, year-end or catch up gifts you’d like to give to Covenant Chapel.

We currently need an additional $100,000 for our operating budget and another $200,000 for some of our biggest dreams.  All of our ministries have great plans that come with financial needs.  Plans for:

  • marketing our church so that others know who and where we are
  • reaching out to leaders in our city
  • hiring an Associate Pastor.  NOTE:  this is so important to me personally and strategic to us as a church body.  It will help us better pursue: outreach plans, staff leadership development, adult ministry needs, counseling those in need and caring and supporting others in times of trial and bereavement
  • hiring young summer interns for our Middle School and High School Ministry
  • upgrading our multi-media, sound and lighting system so as to serve our congregation, creative arts, worship and outreach plans
  • training and material to more effectively connect with others in evangelism
  • and many more…

In light of these great needs and awesome opportunities, would you please consider giving a year-end gift?  All you have to do is:

  1. make a check out to Covenant Chapel EPC (an envelope is provided) and either put it in the offering bag or mail it by December 31st  (or at your convenience) to the church office,
  2. use the Give Page on the church website
  3. bring it by the church office or
  4. give by donating stock, bonds, etc., (you can arrange this through John Looloian, our Treasurer)

It is a great time for us to press the battle lines forward!  Let’s see what God does among us in 2010 by expanding our financial resource base to take advantage of the many great opportunities before us!

Thank you for your commitment to “excel in the grace of giving” (2 Corinthians 8:7) and for your belief that the Lord will bless you richly, knowing it is “more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).  Every gift you send helps us more confidently and freely pursue what the Lord is calling us to do together.    I cannot thank you enough for your encouragement and commitment to each other, to me and to the ministries of Covenant!  Your encouragement and prayers give me, and all the leadership, great strength and hope.

Our church, as we focus on Him, will continue to see a harvest of changed lives who live for and enjoy His glory by living in glad surrender to Him.  We commit to honoring your financial gifts and pledge to use them wisely and mightily for Kingdom work.

Sincerely in Christ,

Dave Robinson, Pastor
