Tithes and Offerings are our gifts that provide for the ministry and operating expenses of Covenant Chapel. At Covenant Chapel, we believe tithes and offerings are first and foremost, as our responsibility given us by God.

How Tithes and Offerings are Used

Tithes and money received from regular offerings are used for the Operating Fund which provides for the day-to-day operating and ministry expenses of Covenant Chapel.  

For example, tithes and offerings contribute to our outstanding youth and children's ministries, adult educations programs and LifeCourses as well as men's & women's ministries.

Furthermore, tithes and offerings provide funding for our international and community missions efforts to take the Gospel outside the walls of Covenant Chapel into Kansas City and the world.

The Biblical basis for Tithes and Offerings

While there are many references to money throughout the Bible, here are a few that illustrate a Biblical view of tithes and offerings...

• Malachi 3:10

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. "

• 1 Chronicles 29:12

"Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.

• Luke 16:10-11

"He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.  "Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you?
