Family: wife: Amy, children: Stephen, Katie, Alan, and Matthew
Influences: My Mom, my sister and my brother. My wife. FarmHouse Fraternity. The staff and students of Campus Crusade for Christ when I was at K-State. The teams that I have been on in Springfield, Hungary, and St. Louis.
Epic Moments: The day my dad was lost in Nov. 1968, the day my mom was re-married, Understanding assurance of my salvation at Timberlake Ranch Bible Camp when I was 13. Panama City Beach in 1985, ESE Summer Project in Hungary 1986. Chicago Christmas Conference 1986 when Amy and I started dating, My wedding day, the birth of my kids, the two years in Hungary, Surprise visit home for Christmas in 1997. Moving to St. Louis in 1998. God calling us to Covenant Chapel.
Spare Time: Watching football, especially the Huskers and the Cats, in the Fall. Following K-State basketball, disc golf, driveway basketball, playing catch with my kids, watching movies.
Books: The Bible by God, Future Grace by John Piper, Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, Eternity in their Hearts by Don Richardson, How Now Shall We Live by Chuck Colson, Just Walk Across the Room by Bill Hybels, The Outrageous Promise by Dave Robinson. Novels by Clancy, Grisham, Patterson, Flynn.
Music: Classic hits from the 70’s – Kansas, Billy Joel, Elton John , Chicago, Three Dog Night; Country – Garth Brooks, Toby Keith; Christian - Steven Curtis Chapman, most of the music by the Glee cast (did I just admit that?)
Movies: The Bourne Trilogy, Remember the Titans, Braveheart, The Shawshank Redemption, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Tommy Boy
Food: Grilled steak, baked potato, corn on the cob, tossed salad, and apple pie for dessert. Perfect.
At Starbucks, I order a: Diet Coke or Frappuccino or anything that covers up the bitterness of straight coffee.
Biggest Frustration: When people dogmatically hold to a position that clearly has multiple possibilities. Discussions or arguments that have no clear conclusion and no right answers.
Motivation: Knowing that I only have one life to live and wanting to live it to the fullest for the greatest impact for the glory of God.

Your role at Covenant Chapel: To encourage, assist, and support the senior pastor by helping the staff and congregation move forward in our vision of encountering God, encouraging others, and engaging the world for the glory of God.
