Become a Member

Join us on a mission to Encounter God, Encourage Others and Engage the World. Learn why and how below:

Why become a member?

What's the difference between attending a church regularly and becoming a member? Becoming a member of a church does not save us - only God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ can do that (see Romans 3:21-26). Yet, when we become followers of Christ we become members of His body - the Church.  Becoming a member reflects you belong to Christ and is a sign of our commitment to Christ and one another.

Here are several good reasons why you should consider becoming a member of Covenant Chapel:

  • To glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31)

Jesus established the Church (Matthew 16:18). If Jesus is committed to the church, should we be any less committed to it?

  • To build one another up in love and grow in our faith

As followers of Christ, we are not designed to live life alone, but in genuine, authentic, Biblical community with one another (1 Corinthians 12:4-7; Ephesians 4:15-16).

  • To share and show Christ to the world by our love

As a church, we can better spread the gospel together than as individuals (John 13:34, 35).

  • To protect ourselves from false teaching as well as expose it

As we interact with other followers of Christ, we affirm the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ and help one another avoid false teaching.

How to become a member

As you consider becoming a member of Covenant Chapel, we would encourage you to take the following steps.

Ask God for His direction - take this decision of commitment before Him.

2. Get Connected

Get Involved at Covenant Chapel by attending on Sunday, taking part in a Covenant Community Group, participating in a LifeCourse, etc. Visit our Get Connected page to learn how.

3. Attend New Member Orientation

When you know God is directing you to make a commitment to join us, attend a New Member's Orientation (a two-hour long class held several times a year), and later express your desire before the congregation. Check the Calendar for upcoming New Member Orientations.
